LORD COMBERMERE

This picture is of the Combermere Abbey library and was taken in 1891. The figure of a man can faintly be seen sitting in the chair to the left. Many people believe his head, collar and arm are clearly visable. It is believed to be the ghost of Lord Combermere.

TULIP STAIRCASE GHOST

This famous photograph was taken in 1966. A Reverend who took the picture merely wanted to photograph the elegant spiral staircase, known as the "Tulip Staircase" in the Queen's House section of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England. When the photo was developed it revealed a cloaked figure climbing the stairs.

MOTHER-IN-LAW

Mrs Mabel Chinnery was visiting the grave of her mother one day in 1959. She had brought her camera to take photographs of the grave. On leaving she took a photo of her husband, who was waiting alone in the car.
When the film was developed, the couple were shocked to see a figure sitting in the back seat of the car. Mrs. Chinnery immediately recognized the image of her mother - the woman whose grave they had visited on that day.

HAMPTON COURT GHOST

In October 2003 something spooky was caught by the palace's CCTV. On different occasions security guards were alerted to an open Fire Door in an exhibition area of the palace. After closing the door each time, they returned to their office to view the CCTV footage to see who had opened them. On the first occasion the footage showed the doors flying wide open, but no evidence of why they had. On the second occasion they were stunned when a ghostly figure in period dress suddenly appeared on the screen and closed the doors. The same thing happened on a third day, but like on the first day no figure appeared.

GHOST GIRL
Photographer T. O'Rahilly took this photo at the town hall at Shropshire. It burned down in November 1995. It has been suggested that the figure of the little girl in the doorway is the ghost of young girl who died in the fire.

THE BROWN LADY
This photo was taken in 1936. It shows the ghost of the 'Brown Lady' who haunts Raynham Hall in England. The image is widely believed to be one of the best and most convincing of all the known photographs of ghosts.
According to legend, the Brown Lady of Raynham is the ghost of Lady Townshend who was married to Charles Townshend, a man known for his fiery temper. When Charles learned of his wife's infidelity, he punished her by imprisoning her in the family estate at Raynham Hall, located in Norfolk, England. He never allowed her to leave its premises, not even to see her children. She remained there until her death, when she was an old woman.

ALTER MONK
Reverend K. F. Lord took this photo at Newby Church in North Yorkshire in the 1960's. He claims he was merely taking a photo of the alter and didn't see anything unusual at the time, until the photograph was developed. This particular photo has been the subject of many arguments and much controversy over the years due to the rather "fake" appearance of the figure in the photo.
